The Barbican operates as a stand-alone microcosm within the city of London. Of course the design of the buildings are singularly iconic, but it's the urban planning and it's history of social responsibility that I find so captivating. When I first moved to London, I would often spend weekends walking around this area, people watching and taking photographs. I love the abstract nature of this image; it's almost hard to decipher the puzzle on first glance.
